Thursday Teacher Spotlight

We appreciate your patience as we have experienced a higher than usual number of cars in both morning drop-off and afternoon pickup. In the past, we have had an average of 130 cars in the line. This year, we have an average of 274 cars each day. In an attempt to decrease wait times during your morning commute, we have added an additional drop-off location on the other side of the gym between 7:15 and 7:30. Please keep in mind, this area is a bus-only area prior to 7:15. You are welcome to drop off at this location if your child is able to exit the car unassisted. Please pull up to the sidewalk adjacent to where regular drop-off is and your child can exit the car and enter the school using the same sidewalk as our regular drop-off location.

Good afternoon, parents! We're off to a great start to school, and we hope everyone is enjoying the beginning of the year with us. We just wanted to share a quick reminder that with the beginning of the school year comes a time to refresh our memories on our emergency drills. The state of Georgia requires us to hold a certain number of fire drills and an intruder drill within the first month of school. We'll be holding these drills throughout the month of September as we do each year. If you have any questions about our safety drills, please let us know. Thanks!

Please see attached.

Our school nurse will be at open house!

Due to safety concerns and the lack of visibility pulling out onto Leonard Bridge Road in the afternoons, we have made some changes to our pickup procedures for the 2023-2024 school year. The safety of our staff, students, and families is our first priority!
Morning Drop Off-
- K-6th will drop off in the back of the school (same location)
Afternoon Pickup-
- You will now enter and exit the student pickup area on Sitton Road
- Fast Pass holders will be picked up at the front of the school
With any new procedure, it takes time for everything to work seamlessly. We ask for your patience and understanding as we make this transition. We know it will be slower than usual the first few days of school. Attached you will find maps with the new procedures. We will be happy to answer any questions at open house. We can't wait to welcome our Cubs back!
